Just stepped out for a bit, wyatt.
Must admit I thought that paid employees at BV might ramp up their efforts at this stage of the season.
Looks like your blokes did OK......

BV website shows that Upwey FTG led throughout in its 7-0 whitewash of Werribee in the other Divvy Two Semi-Final.
Going to be tough for the Giants to win two on the trot against Donny and his boys at the weekend, while Sunshine's pitching depth makes it eminently capable of still getting past Williamstown - which has had an outstanding post-Christmas run.
There seems little point in BV posting Leader or Star Division Two previews when the first Semi-Final games have already been decided. Seriously, for how much longer is this governing body going to expect others to do its media work?
Best wishes to all men's, women's and junior sides playing finals at the weekend. May all compete to capacity and above all enjoy the contest as individuals and as baseball teams.

The reports from BVSL have been as dry as 2 day old bread toasted. And that's being kind. Nothing that couldn't be done from a far flung Bintang producing land by simply extrapolating info from scorers sheets. I'll ask the question. Has the media from BVSL attended one game this season to give a first hand report? If so where and when. I understand that there is more to report than the Mens 1st. Division and appreciate the coverage/mentions (?) of the other leagues, 2nd Div, 3rd Div, Women, Jnr's et al. BUT! The premier, blue ribbon account must be the Divvy 1 mens team and reporting from game stat's during the finals is not good enough. Simple as that. No reviews, no in depth reporting, nothing that I couldn't have surmised by looking at the scoresheet and while that's Ok for me but it's not Ok for attracting interest for people, parents, media at large and kids. It doesn't make sense unless they have a personal investiture. Go to the games BVSL. Report first hand experience. Sh1t!! You might even enjoy it.

I hear willy threw their import in the 2s final last week. Pretty poor form imo. Lucas Has been Throwing in the 2's since Christmas. The kid has been working on a lot of things mechanical and otherwise after a very difficult start to the year for him. It all came together for him last week where he threw a cg with 15k's against a quality Berwick outfit. Great to see it all come together for a guy who has put in an incredible amount of work to get to where he is now.

Enjoying a fantastic season back in Division One, Fitzroy held an early break in Semi-Final 2 but was unable to hold off Essendon, which edged home 8-7 to qualify for another Grand Final Series - this time against Melbourne, who downed Blackburn 4-1 after winning a midweek thriller in Game One.
Following on from its Game One win over Werribee in Division Two, Upwey was again too strong, posting an 11-6 win that earns it a berth in the Grand Final series. Its opponent will be decided on Sunday, when Williamstown plays host to Sunshine in a Game Three decider after the Eagles atoned for a Game One loss with a thumping 10-0 result today.

Well done to all the winners and good luck next week
Very irdunary umpiring in the game I saw out near the hills today. All it needed was some Benny Hill music

Sunshine wrapped up Game Three over Williamstown in Division Two, again with a 10-0 whitewash.
The Eagles will meet Upwey in the best of three Grand Final series starting on Wednesday evening.

Several Grand Final results from yesterday appear to be missing from the BV results site.
Well done to all Grand Final sides who played yesterday - an excellent achievement to get to the final game.

Very sad to hear that at several venues yesterday premiership flags and medals were not presented to the winners with any ceremony or speeches.BV officials cannot be everywhere but surely when they are delivered to the home clubs during the week, as they are, a directive of protocol should be included. A BV official should make the presentations but in their absence the Umpires should do it because it seems unless the home team wins, the hosts will give the visitors a belated plastic bag without even a word.

Big thanks to bv and Ormond allowing the div 3 ressirs game to be played earlier on the main diamond at dandy, as a curtain raiser. Will make life easier for a lot of folk at rebelnation to catch both games with out too much drama. A good initiative by all.

'A directive of protocol' would mean clear communication right?

So now the biggest game of the year for 2 teams has a rolling start time. 2.5 hours is an unlikely 9 innings game time in the best of scenarios. Imagine if the game goes extras, as ormonds first 2 finals have done. Guys warming up then sitting around doing nothing for an hour. It's unlikely, but what if you get to a point where the late game is in trouble? Not to mention it's clearly not within the rules.

Yes Larry , clear communication would be good and expected. But you would also think a strong and successful club would know how after Grand Final ceremonies should go, with or without direction. I guess you can judge a lot more about people from the way they lose not how they win.

VSBL Divvy 2 Grand Final preview is on their site today and it's a good one. Where has this kind of reporting been hiding all season? Good job by the un-named writer.

I guess you can judge a lot more about people from the way they lose not how they win. So the expectation is that the Pres of the home club should have been the one to run the ceremony? Or the umpires who headed off straight afte.r the game to go in and get changed? Did you say you were or weren't there? The game was played in a tough fashion by two different team playing styles. There was so banter both ways, but in the end the better team won and then unfortunately there was am awkward time until medals were given out. spare me with the old line of ' you can judge a lot more about people from the way they lose and not how they win'.

Just on reflection from past grand final wins and losses I've been involved in, including masters loss last week, the umps that have been involved in those games have always been on the ball with the medal presentations. Guess if the games been played in the spirit that denies this simple gesture then who's fault is it really? No one likes losing gf's, I know I've been in the end of plenty, but I've always hung around and participated in the winners reward ceremony's. How bad could it have been honestly?
