We are running our own in house Friday night comp due to logistics and have just been told by BV that we need to register all the kids as u12 players at a cost of $93 each. How can an 8yo kid playing 12 90 minute coach pitch games with an rib ball be charged about 80% of the cost of a div 1 player playing 27 or more games at an elite level.
Who sets the cost BV or the insurer?
And why so much for the kids? Are they subsidising seniors? Should Div 1 players pay more than div 4?
And how does the price of insurance stack up to other sports? I think its an outrageous cost and directly affects our ability to attract kids to the sport but maybe I'm the one that's out of touch.

Insurance is only a small part of the registration fees, there are administration fees for both Baseball Australia and Baseball Victoria.
Going on your reasoning should a 4ths player pay less club fees than a 1sts player because he play less games and probably trains less as well.

It's not my reasoning, I'm just asking the question. So what is the breakdown in admin fees?

Little League BA Cap Fee $33.91 + Insurance $7.85
BA Fee including 4.4% $43.60 BV Fee including 4.4% $49.40 Total $93.00
This is the only breakdown I could find

Wow, thanks mackem. Based on that it's insulting that BV are asking for the full little league registration fee. Surely they can come up with a more reasonable figure for a club run program that they have no input into. They will probably slug us for 2 junior teams entry fees too.
