Five or six weeks into the season and with so much happening around Victorian baseball, we STILL can't get decent quality reports actually produced by baseball people? No feature stories. No interviews. No player profiles or breaking news, other than what is generated by clubs (like Sandringham) doing great work thanks to their volunteers.
Leader Newspaper support is great. But does copying Leader photos, posting their links and publishing half-assed writeups by an intern - several days after games - really represent value for the money spent on full-time, paid staff?
Leader journos and club volunteers are not employed by Baseball Victoria. They should be enhancing the coverage of club baseball. They should not be expected to provide the coverage for our paid-up membership.
Come on, BV, lift your game! Raise the bar, for chrissakes.

Player, very true. No real input from the so called media officer, except for what is supplied by the local papers or supplied by the clubs. Maybe the portfolio is not to actually report on games but to get huge chunks into the tabloids to attract more people to read about our game. I feel this is money being wasted again. A bit like getting a car serviced for the cost of a new car, but what is money when it is well spent(not). Maybe her time is really taken up with the Aces, maybe someone can give a definitive answer, I have not got a clue.
