Guild retained top placing in the GBA with a 10-0 whitewash of Lara and Werribee strengthened its hold on second with a 10-5 result over Bellarine in an error-afflicted contest.
Mounties downed Saints 11-6 in a hard-fought victory that leaves the haloes languishing in the cellar but looking for redemption in a Sunday clash with the Wildcats (Lara, 1.00 PM start).
Third-placed Deakin had the A Grade bye.

Heathmont beat GMBC in A grade 9 to 3. Matty Wilson and John Edwards did the pitching for the Penguins. Nick Rossell and Ben Leslie both hit home runs.

Melbourne Winter Basebal League non reporting.
OK...I get it. The designated media reporter is on leave. The last report regarding game play in the MWBL was four games ago, that is, four weeks ago and there has been plenty to report. This lack of communication, thereby momentum is defeating the purpose of having a website in the first place. I can find out info from myriad sources except the centralised governing body that is charged with this onerous task but it is vital. May I humbly suggest to the MWBL that someone charged with the engagement of the winter baseball community and the broader community at large can take leave, outside of the winter season. I do understand that circumstance and personal/health issues may arise during ones tenure and if it is the case at this time then I hope that you are OK and are able to return to the fold soon. I also humbly suggest that the MWBL have a plan B or contingency plan for such an occurrence. I sincerely hope that the MWBL media rep' is OK.

I'm not sure if you've been in the bv office of late but I get s feeling that they may be a tad understaffed, and with a few issues currently taking up space in the in box, the media department(?) is the least of their worries.....
