So.... week 5 and the last report from Winter Baseball League was nearly a month ago. Seriously?
If someone not involved who was considering to BE involved but was wavering and the most current news was a month old. What would you think?
As a dyed in the wool follower and after years of trial, error and advice, I know how to find info' about recent games and who is doing what but only from some quarters. Apart from cold hard stat's about the Ladder, results and next weeks fixture there is nothing to entice a newby to get excited.
In fact, 5 weeks in and there is nothing to excite at all. Why?
The MWBL purports to be the leader in Victoria during winter baseball but I can get so much more from myriad sources.
I have for years now been pointing friends and acquaintances to the governing bodies web-sites but am constantly asked about the club ball status as they cannot find it.
A common comment is "but that's a month old." or "they only showed last years stuff."
This no bulldust.
Well and good you might think. It's there if they care to look elsewhere.....and that's the problem.
They don't know!
Give them somewhere central to look, regularly. Give the kids, with their voracious appetites, heroes and then info about their heroes on a regular basis.
How could someone new to the league ever hope to be as informed as I believe they should be?
C'mon guys, you can and should be doing better.
Regularly and dependently.
