Todays scores ASAP thanks. Why is Chelt 3rd on the Eastern Conference ladder when they have a better WP than Blackburn ?

While I'm at the keyboard I can't help having another whinge about our current ladder system based on Win Percentage (WP). A system that actually encourages some teams not to play certain fixtures when the opportunity arises (rain outs) is open to abuse. Remove this possibility and play every game. We played make up games in a 33 game season we now play 27 (Div 1).

Cheltenham over Blacky in 10 innings 10/7. Great character building effort by Maxy Barrett, touched up early in relief, then held them out to the end.Three run bomb by Ben Leslie in the Tenth was timely in putting the visitors in front. Cheers...... Beaver

I'm with you on those missed games Fuzzy, its bad enough putting up with heat outs and rainy days not being replayed, Sunshine and Chelt missed a game at MBP this season due to a lightower being out. Thank the almighty the potato cakes were on song that night. Not enough games BV.

Huge Pink day at Sandy today, don't know the final figure but heaps raised for the Breast Cancer Network. Thanks to the Geelong Baseball Club for their support of the day with our raffles, canteen, bar and the spirit of the day. Royals prevailed in a pitcher dominated game 2-1, I can't give you much detail as I was flat knacker on the BBQ all day but Brandon Stenhouse had his best outing for the club getting the W and Sam Street the save. Geelong 2nds 5-3 knocking the Royals out of finals contention, Royals 3s and 4s won.

Congratulations to the Sandringham Baseball Club on continuing this fantastic fund-raising and club-building initiative in support of a great cause. Appropriate that the club should enjoy an important Division One win on the day. In the lower grades, Ballarat City Brewers kept their Division Two finals aspirations alive with an 8-6 result over Bonbeach Blue Jays. www.ballaratcitybaseball.com.au/

Wandered down to the Bluejay nest on a beautiful day to witness two up and coming sides battle out an intriguing battle. The Brew Crew jumped out early in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th to lead 5 to 1 when The Jays struck back with a four spot to tie the game up, unfortunately for the Jays, a horror 10 minutes in the field cost them three runs in which the Brew Crew found was to be enough to hold the Jays with a final score of 8 to 6. Solid pitching came from Seth Heath and Rick Howell for the Crew and Matty Prior did a fine job holding Ballarat except for that horror ten minutes. The seconds played out a 6 all draw in the early game.

Highly unusual scenarios in the Essendon vs Preston game on the weekend.
There was 2 inthepark home runs and just about a third one as well. Both plays resulted after a double and errors.
It was one for each team.
You can go years without seeing one, so 2 in the same game is weird.

It's not an in the park if it's from an error Not saying they are legit, thats why I stated how they occurred. But regardless, be it by error or not, they rarely happen.
