Hi all. Looking for some ideas, tips or contacts to have footscrays pitching mound repaired or redone.
We currently have a matting underneath the dirt and it rips up every game. We have tried quick fixes but we need it fixed permenantly.
If anyone has thrown on our mound you would have noticed our issue.
Please respond asap.

Pretty sure he did ours. We want to get rid of the matting totally. I think he only uses the matting

we found the matting to be good but it takes a lot more attention. what ended up happening was pitchers would dig deep into it and expose the matting. it also requires a certain type of sand that works better with matting. What our guys have done this season is full clay rebuild and its great but it needs to be packed down after every game and clay top up during the season.

You could try Les Flower as he maintains Williamstown's mound.

Sue ridgepipe is a mound guru! The bump at dandy is epic. Need lots of clay and elbow grease....but it can be done.

I do think that the quality of the coir mats has significantly decreased in the last 12-18 months, but that aside the key to maintaining a good mat mound (aside from keeping them covered with dirt) is when you see a tuft of coir you replace that mat (I neglected to do this 2 weeks ago, ouch). Unfortunately clubs wait till 3 or 4 mats are stuffed then coir tufts are everywhere and mat strings sticking out and then the general opinion is mat mounds are no good. There is obviously more to mat mounds and homeplates than what I've spoken about above and I would be happy to give more info. fuzzy
