Well, what can I say except that the combination of volcanic ash and the Bintangs that are required to clear the sinus have made the fingers want to dance for the midweek round but before that........... The weekends games in the Div.1 Seniors VSBL has provided some welcomed surprises. Not so much the wins and losses attributed to some games but scorelines that are pleasantly surprising to some that are not in the know. Me for example. A big surprise was provided by the VSBL with it's reversion to the split conference ladder which now reads something like this, if you revert to the ladder before this latest reversion, in the overall standings. 1. Melbourne with a 7-1 win ratio. 2. Geelong 7-1 ratio. 3. Blackburn 6-2. 4. Essendon 6-2. 5. Cheltenham 4-4. 6. Waverley 4-4. 7. Newport 4-4. (i"m not good on stat's that aren't provided). 8. Sandringham. 3-5. 9. Preston 2-6 10. Doncaster 2-6. 11. Sunshine 2-6 but could be 10th. (depending on mathematical equations of the chaos theorem). 12. Springvale 1-7. All clubs will face off in a mid week re-match following the weekend and there are plenty of positives to be found. Positive #1. Sunshine smell blood. In round 3 they defeated 2nd placed Geelong by 1 run and in round 8 they lost to Blackburn by only 1 run. They will have gained confidence by being in the mix with the big dogs of the comp' and could provide the upset of round #9. Positive #2. Melbourne will be smarting after their 3 run loss at the "Girl Thingy Dome" against Geelong and will be looking to re-stamp their authority on neutral ground at La Trobe. Positive #3. Sandringham can also smell blood after the weekend victory over their more favoured opponents Waverley. Which team will prevail? The wounded beast or the hunters with fresh blood in the nostrils? Sweep for Sandy? Positive #4. With Melbourne falling to Geelong and Blackburn escaping with a 2-1 win over Sunshine, Essendon will be looking to capitalise on their 10-2 win over Springvale but possibly risk a line-up that bloods some up and coming talent. Positives #5 and #6. You can bet your a*** that nobody wants to be relegated at seasons end. The newbies and those on the scent will be fighting just as hard as the more decorated clubs of season 2016 to stay in the premier division of the VSBL. No club gets to play in this division without depth, hard work, dedication, heart and soul. This report has not been approved by General Motors Holden, Australian Sex Party, Casper the friendly ghost nor Louis XVI. Viva la France. Every game counts.

Saw Moorabbin take on Berwick at the Berwick ground. Very entertaining game from a spectators point of view. Moorabbin threatened with the bat and eventually got one across the plate. Berwick were using the three innings rotation with their pitchers with JJ giving up one run and young Jesse Hunter giving up two courtesy of a lapse of concentration by the Berwick fielders. Franco D from Moorabbin pitched a well controlled game and never looked in doubt on the bump. Josh Mulherin lead the way for the Panthers with two hits. The Berwick Manager got a bit heated under the collar and spent the last portion of the game ejected from the game. To say the least, it was an interesting Tuesday night and well worth the drive to Berwick. The final score was 3 to nil Moorabbins way.

Royals 7-1 over Wildcats, probably 5 unearned. Dave Armstrong a solo bomb for Sandy and their defence was good with a couple of very good outfield catches by Jake Wonnacott and Rob Anthony (one for the highlight reel) and the win going to Terry Jeong. Altona cops plenty of flak for the price of food but at least it's canteen is open.

Just a hint of sarcasm there, fuzzy? Great to see your boys doing so well. Terrific club, with a super administration, coaching staff and a proactive media presence. Waverley, too, continues to be a benchmark as a strong club committed to player development and to betterment of the game in this state.

........BREAKING NEWS........BREAKING NEWS...........BREAKING NEWS..........BREAKING NEWS.....
Sunshine pitchers Eric Bruns and Griffin Weir combine to shut out league heavyweights Blackburn at Melbourne Ballpark tonight.
Sunshine 10 v. Blackburn ZIP.
Lewis Weldon and Rory Meddick led the hitting for the Eagles with 3 apiece.
Sunshine smelled blood last weekend and in tonights mid-weeker they tasted blood. This will give them an enormous boost in confidence and they'll need every bit of the self belief gained when they go up against league co-leader Melbourne this weekend. Melbourne drew with Geelong last night 1-1 and that follows the Demons loss last weekend to Geelong and will definitely be looking for redemption come Sunday. Congrat's Sunshine Eagles.
Never say never.
EVERY game counts.

Pretty active ladder after the last two rounds. The coming weekend looks to be a cracker.

Amazing how breaking news comes out of bintangland quicker than what can be fleeced out of the so called BV media centre. By the way. perfeckt, spot on prediction re Blackburn v Sunshine.

Waverley don't have a canteen open on Friday night either. Been there last two game with upwey under 12's and you have to bring everything, not even a fridge with some softies or water. They did last year for a women's final as well! No food, no grog, only soft drinks hosting a final! Guess it is what it is! On another note, rebels continue the unbeaten streak alive with a 9-8 win vs Ormond at the gravie dome! The chance to see some kids get a hit and pitch the highlight, but another huge crowd catered beautifully by old yella donny Poole! Yet another super Sunday down at dandy(again) hosting research...hope to see a good crowd again, playing a much improved research outfit from the previous game. Go Rebels

Ok.........I know that BV are stretched, why? is open for discussion but even I know that Sunshine have played two more games than have been attributed to them on the division 1 ladder. Newport and Blackburn have played 9 not 8. Sunshines 8th game was against Blackburn who have been registered with a win and a placement on the ladder with stat's for that game.
Time for some pro-active human involvement BVSL and less reliance on a computer program where nothing can go wrong.....go wrong.....gowrong.....g.......
I'm quite happy to be told that I'm rong.

It's not you perfekt....it's fonzy in the office that can't admit they were wrrrrr....wrrrrr.....wrrrrr....they can't do it. Saying that Jessica seems to be doing a good job of relay information to our club, even if half the stuff is completely non related to our club at the minute.

Damo - complaining about whether a canteem is open, really? Not all clubs are in a position where they have Donnie Poole type of people to run that sort of stuff. Just reckon its throwing stones at clubs when it doesn't need to happen.

I wasn't throwing stones....it's a fact that the once mighty Waverley can't be bothered or don't give a stuff! It's stinks of arrogance tbh Kane. My post was in response to the fact that fuzzy had a similar experience at a mid week game in the ones! I find it odd you don't have a couple of folk that are willing to set up a basic canteen. It's not like there's only two teams running around on Friday night. Anyway, it's not going to affect my club whether Waverley want to open their bar/canteen on game days. It's Waverley it'll affect long run.

Got absolutely nothing to do with arrogance mate. And as odd as it may seem to you we don't have a lot of folk that are willing and able. There's nuts that happens at every club but funny how people always want to pick apart stuff at other clubs or something they know little about

Perception is everything outside your club Kane. I don't blame you for sticking up for the place....but there at 20 or 30 other clubs that see things like this happening at Waverley and think typical! I just think it can't be that hard to have someone there to open the canteen....unless you've got 3 people on the committee.

Complaining about a canteen not being open is picking apart another club, give me a spell. Some clubs who haven't got the volunteers outsource their canteen but I shouldn't comment on something I know little about.

I commented on the fact that it's happened the last three times I've been there! (Twice the last 4 weeks)

I probably shouldn't have said anything, but it is annoying. As for Parkman, the less said the better! Enjoy you weekend everyone, I'm having one off!
