Frankston gets over Chelt in the A grade 1 nil. The highlight being the fielding from both sides. The 2nds got the better of Chelt 7 to 2. The thirds win their third game getting over Chelsea 7 to 4 The fourths went down to Mornington in a close one

Undefeated from four games in the GBA, Guild retained top billing in A Grade after blanking Deakin 4-0 in a high-quality contest, while Bellarine hung on 8-7 against a fast-finishing Mounties YC in Ballarat. Still in search of its first win, Bacchus Marsh disappointed its home supporters as Lara Wildcats romped away 12-2. East Belmont Saints had the A Grade bye. www.geelongassociation.baseball.com.au/

I am amazed to see the multiple Premiers from both MWBL and Dandy league are on the bottom of their ladders. I know it is only 4 games in but i doubt either club has been winless at this stage before. Can anyone shed any light?

It does seem incredible to see two powerhouse winter clubs go from hero to zero, so far. Even this early in the season It will take a mighty effort to take a flag this season. The Penguins are struggling in the pitching department with an import returning to the U.S. already but their mighty bats have also been snoozing. The Rustlers and Penguins are blooding new talent in their squads that are filling spots vacated by some of the older guard. Whilst a changing of the guard is something every sporting club will go through and be affected one thing is certain and that is, two Championship clubs will have to claw back the deficit to be in contention to hang another pennant on the wall when the thaw comes and that would be a champion effort. Good luck to both.

Don't know about the Penguin situation, but the DBA A grade now has a very even competition which is showing up one area of play that hitting and scoring are paramount. That has basically been the Rustlers problem at this stage, no conversion. Five runs in three games won't win anything. Their squad hasn't changed a lot since last year, just not hitting. They will come good.
