How long have you been around baseball KC???
Can't believe you'd say that! Boys, may as well book a holiday for next weekend, KC has just guaranteed us a wash out.

Wasn't sure where to post but took the little larry's down to the Port Melb Baseball Club for a throw and hit last night. Field will look terrific when finished and hopefully the contractors will still deliver on time but going by last night may be a touch later than the mid Jan as planned. Dirt hasn't been put down yet, grass starting to take shape, and batting tunnel, big dug outs, and bull pens done as well. Hopefully the name of the field carries on because there was some consternation about that at one point. Not sure that the young boys wearing their Wav hats were that well received in the old Burra' though.

L 42 - Wavo hats should be removed upon leaving the 3150 postcode
Always hard been torn between 1 - 2 clubs, or 10 for that matter.

Actually just on that point there are some real positives in terms of ground upgrades going on of late. Port (see above) and Sunshine's new infield, and even our ground (mound) at Latrobe is getting an upgrade and batting tunnels etc also upgraded. Any more out there ?

Good day at Albert Park with both Saints 1's & 2's getting up. 2's led from the start and won 11-6. 1's had a good tussle, low scoring affair with a 3 run shot to Pete Tronick the difference in a 5-3 win. Saints used four pitchers trying to relieve the workload in the heat. Cerafice threw 5, Byrne 1, Laird a couple and de Costa closed it out. Plenty of tacos sold too - more than a 100 by all reports, good crowd as well.

Down 5-6 in the middle of seven, Sunshine took it right up to Geelong this afternoon before the Baycats whacked a game-breaking five runs in the bottom of the innings for a final 11-5 result. And you were on the money, marshy. The baseball gods were obviously not too happy about my comment, with a few token (albeit very big) drops of rain being sent down as a gentle reminder to all of us. www.vicsummerleague.baseball.com.au/

Blackburn and Essendon drew 13-13 after game was called for bad light after 14 innings. Upwey FTG 8-7 on walk-off in the bottom of nine over Melbourne, while Sandy made it two straight by downing Malvern 5-2 and Cheltenham whitewashed Doncaster 8-0. www.vicsummerleague.baseball.com.au/

wolves 4-2 over the panthers in a tight game of baseball.
big lead off homerun to the panthers import in the first and another run in the second had moorabbin in front for most of the day.
Wolves tied it up in the 8th and picked up 2 go ahead runs in the 9th on a wild throw to 1st from the pitcher.
Josh Lee threw a complete game for the wolves. Andy Dewar was very impressive over 7 2/3 innings for the panthers.
good game of baseball from both sides, pleasure to be a part of.

Good fun game of masters baseball last night. Kudo's to the Cheltenham people for a fine feed, and good memories. A job well done by the Umpire in green. Did an excellent job and in the right spirit. Anybody passing the visitors dug out this week please pick up one right shoulder and I will pick it up Thursday when the lad trains. Thank you Cheltenham for the fine hospitality. Maybe the State boys training learnt an think or too, noticed a lot of them sneaking a peek to see how the game was played.
