Isn't it time that a valuable member to the Victorian Baseball fraternity (and by extension his family) be relieved of their burden of non-participation and a review from BV. The penalty has been paid in spades and the baseball community has lost by the shovel load. What was done is done. Move on for the greater good.

Would I be correct in assuming that you are referring to a former Malvern coach?

Yes wako you would be. Marc McKenner in fact but his name could be John Doe, John Jones or John Smith. During McKenners' trials and tribulations I posted my thoughts regarding the physical inviolability regarding umpires but I have come to believe that mitigating factors should now be bought to account. Others have been dealt less punishment in higher profile sports, Danny Nikolic being one of the most recent that springs (carnival) to mind. He got a 5 year penalty of non involvement from the VRC. Rules are rules, I understand and support that but I also believe in appeals and re-appraisal by governing bodies and their capacity to be compassionate. Although I don't know Marc, it seems to me that a re-visit by Baseball Victoria to this particular case may be of benefit to the overall Baseball community.
