Openeye I think you have made an assumption regarding my September 11 post - this was based on moving between grades especialy during finals, not the fact that he was pitching at all. The notation was related to Adam Bright dropping back to get in game time (or the like). You're off the mark I'm afraid. When I'm Whitey's age I hope I still get to play and maybe someone will think I should play in a different grade...though I doubt it. Whitey is obviously good enough to play higher so did for C Reserve and then dropped back to his regular EE spot. You may think my credibility is zero and I'm fine with that in your opinion. Backwardsk was obviously a close observer and has a more agressive thought about what happened. I've been clear with what I saw so please correct me if I'm wrong on the facts. GMBC players/supporters who were actually at the game don't need to comment if they don't want to which I respect. I'll even take your feedback youlose again, not that it made much sense! Yes, no one was injured, there were umpires present, I never used the word 'knee' so comfortable with relaying what I saw and my opinion. Game went on without any real on-field niggles so credit to the players. It wasn't right - I think we all agree on that. Whitey played in C Reserve to get in game time, just like Adam did. If he didn't play it would have been 3 weeks between his last game and the EE grand final. Had nothing to do with getting the C Reserve team into the grand final. Did you read fandango's post after yours? It was a 12-2 ballgame when Whitey came in so I'm not sure what the hell you're on about. In any case, what was the 'sheep stations' remark all about? Me thinks I'm not so far off the mark at all. As for 'backwardsk' - I will leave it to others on this forum to decide about his comments, especially the language he used. My view is that it reflects very poorly on your club to have one of your members making those sort of statements on a public forum. If that's the image you want to project then good luck to you.

I would suggest a few beverages may have been sunk by then. :champ: What's backwardsk's excuse? Don't have a problem with my glass house - beats an ivory tower any day.

Firstly the score was 6 x nill, Leigh McKay has been our number 1 and MVP for the last three years of course I have Confidence in him, we wouldn't have finished where we did without him. I'm rapt for him on an award which is well over due and one in which he richly deserved

Heeeeeeeeeey the Penguins!!!!!! Well done boys - long time coming! Ps - doesn't surprise me at all about Whitey. Bet the other guy was a lot smaller too!! What a joke! This from a guy who believes in throwing at batters who 'do the wrong thing'. Maybe Whitey should have plugged the next batter then everything would have been OK. It's part of the game - has been for a very long time. Coming up behind someone and "kneeing" someone however, that's not part of the game, well at least not when I played. And yes, had he chosen to plug the next hitter for retribution - no problem - that's generally how things are handled.

hmmm prima facie unlawful assault, punishable by a max of 3 months jail, yet not enough for ejection in baseball?
