Just a query. Hasn't matty Blackmore been in the Europe playing? If he's just back how has he qualified?

I don't think Matthew has been in Europe for the whole winter season, and I'm sure Cheltenham, like any other club. would have completed their due diligence and ensured that all players named have indeed qualified for finals play.

Stuartcapel What about the Boneo player who had his name (allegedly) added to the umpires card while he had been overseas. He only played 2 games but now playing in the finals.
What's the latest with the Chelt players at the Tribunal Thruisday Night?

What's the latest with the Chelt players at the Tribunal Thruisday Night? I would imagine it will remain an allegation until anyone informs the DBA, who would be honour bound to investigate any potential wrong doing.

I would be suggesting that it is probably too late to make the allegations against Boneo if any at all animpropriety has occurred, and probably didn't need to be raised on this happy forum. As Stuart suggested, the place to make the complaint would be in the lap of the Great Buddha. Let's just get on with the playing this weekend and enjoy the near season ending day.

Is there a rule that says the player needs to be in the country to be listed on a washout or forfeit line up card. I doubt it.

A tough A1 contest fell the way of Cheltenham, beating a gallant Dandenong 9-8 in a final where no quarter was asked for, nor given.
Angels got out to a 4-0 lead, the Rustlers snuck ahead 5-4 before a home run tied it at 5. The Angels looked as if they'd get out of trouble in the seventh, but Russ Ferguson held is nerve in a tough spot to drive in a couple of runs, the Rustlers eventually heading into the last 9-5 up.
Adam Blackley looked strong on the hill in closing out the game (striking out the side in the 8th), but the 27th out seemed incredibly hard to get. Eventually, with the tying run on base, a ground ball back to Blackley saw the Rustlers home by a solitary run.
Credit to both sides for the contest, which was worth of a title decider, so next week's game has plenty to live up to.
Cheltenham won a tough A2 game 4-3, while Berwick went behind 10-0 in the A3's but following some inspiring words from their coach, came back to stun Bonbeach 15-11.
Well played all, and good luck to everyone next weekend.

To finish off from Stuart's coverage of the weekends Finals in the DBA, we will pick up with the A4 game Dandenong v Bonbeach. Dandenong 13 def Bonbeach 4. The Bluejays where going to always be on a hiding to nothing with the Angels smarting for their first loss in a gazillion years. With Pepp relegated to teh pine with sore legs the Old Masters went to work and returned to the winners list in the end quite comfortably.
B1 Boneo v Dandenong Dandenong 7 def Boneo 3 The Dimmy Muncher weaved his magic wand and got his Angels to display a good defence and good offence. Boneo tried hard to match it with Dandy but just couldn't convert when the oppurtunities arose. The Angels are now full of confidence and after talking to the Dimmy Muncher, he choke full of confidence that Dandy can pull off the big one. Time will tell.
B2 Carrum Downs v Boneo Boneo 6 def Carrum Downs 5 Carrum Downs came ou firing early to jump to a 2 nil lead with CD's pitcher Mitch Bowen striking out the side in the first two innings. Boneo came back on a couple of hits and some errors to hit the front. The game was nip and tuck there after with the game being tied at five all before errors cropped up again to thwart Carrum Downs season losing 6 to 5. Special mentio goes to Mitch Bowen who in 7 innings struck out 13 and gave up only 3 or 4 hits.
B3. Boneo v Carrum Downs Boneo 12 def Carrum Downs 0 Boneo came to play and play they did, good hitting, amazing pitching from Sinkers who managed to keep the ball below 30mph with the wind behind coupled with good defence kept Carrum Downs to an insepid performance. Too many errors from the Cards cost them dearly. This scribe is happy to report that the bat ball and glove have finally been put away for good in winter and will now only restrict the ageing body to just Summer Masters when the sun is out.
Congratulations to all the winners and best of luck next week. To the teams that came second look forward to having a beer with you next week at Dingley for the GF's.
