Speaking of Bubbie Buzachero, he has signed to play in Austria with the Union Kufstein Vikings during the winter time.
From Adelaide, Wayne Ough is joining Technika Brno (Czech Rep), Pat Ahearne is with Kotlarka Prague (Czech Rep) and Matt Smith with the Rouen Huskies in France.
Germany's Bonn Capitals have found a perfect situation in which to sign Brisbane's Daniel Lamb-Hunt, while the Sydney Blue Sox's Richard Olson is teaming up with the Stuttgart Reds.

I so hope the Bonn Capitals games are broadcast...just to hear the received SMS from Australia regards the situation being just dandy for Daniel Lamb-Hunt.
(dandy...where did I pull that word from? Sorry, 17Starter!!)

Further to the signings above, I understand Elliot Biddle is heading back to Germany, and Canberra's Mark Thomas has been handed a Non-Roster Invite to Spring Training for the Tampa Bay Rays. Another nice little something for the ABL.

Hi all, just a quick post from yours truly following the abl season. Please accept that this is a personal post and does not necessarily reflect the opinions or otherwise of anyone else. Thank you to everyone who assisted us in getting the team on the field this season. Obviously a lot of work was done by the front office, but just as importantly many many hours were put in by volunteer staff to make sure that we were able to function, thanks to all of you who picked up a rake, pushed a pen, carried, lifted...whatever it was you did, thanks. That obviously includes the scorers and everyone behind the scenes. A huge thanks to all of the clubs that allowed their import players to represent us throughout the season, and a huge thanks to the Wearne family for their continued support and to Tony Cornish and his family for housing players throughout the season. Obviously others have been more than generous with regard to housing player but these are two families that I have knowledge of. I'm sure I've missed some but will finish my ramble by thanking the sponsors, the players and their families and of course the supporters for the support you all provided. Helped to make it a fun year for me.
Thanks again, have a great day. Phil

A word from Windsor Well, what a season it's been! To think that just a over month ago the Jet Courier Melbourne Aces were sitting in last place on the ABL standings and yet we just missed out on bringing the ABL Championship Shield back home to Victoria. As we wrap up our season, I want to thank our naming rights sponsor, Jet Couriers, and all of our other sponsors for their wonderful support of the Aces and baseball in Victoria. Our fans have been amazing this season, leading the league in total tickets sold and having the highest series attendance in the ABL.
Our fun family-friendly environment has found its way to many new fans this season and this is what will make this game successful in Australia. We love it that new fans are coming out and spreading the word that baseball represents outstanding value when it comes to sports entertainment in Melbourne.
Thanks to my staff members and volunteers who have worked incredibly long hours over the season ensuring our players were ready for action and our fans were having a great time.
To Baseball Victoria and all the participating clubs that drive our sport from the grass roots to the highest level of the game. Our continued partnership is vital to the future of our game and your involvement in the Aces is a big part of our success and for this we thank you.
The Melbourne Showgrounds played host to all our games this season and we look forward to next season and working very closely again with their dedicated staff.
And finally, I would like to congratulate our players for their tireless efforts week in and week out as they battled for their teammates and their fans. Most of our players work during the day, support families at home and play not only for the Aces, but also their local clubs. We should all give our thanks for their dedication and passion for the sport.
The ABL and the Aces have a mission to increase awareness of baseball to the wider community, provide a professional pathway for our local club players and to provide a cost effective fan experience for families and all ages unlike any other in Australia. We’ve come a way towards achieving these goals during the past two years and will continue to do so in the future.
Stay tuned for details about memberships for the next season, which we’ll be releasing very soon.
So thank you all for taking the ride with us this season and don’t worry, 2012-2013 is right around the corner.
See you at the ball park!

Interesting comment: "highest series attendance in the ABL".
No elaboration on which series that was. The Aces highest series attendance was the final home series of the regular season (against Canberra), where the Aces had five open dates, for a total crowd figure of 4423 (439, 539, 1422, 859 and 1164)
I've only looked up Canberra as a comparison at present, however they had three seperante series where they had total attendance figures higher than the Aces best: v Adelaide (4763), v Sydney (4964) and v Perth (5217).
To totally compare the two, the Aces had 23 home dates for a total attendance of 18364 - an average attendance of 655.85.
The Cavalry had 18 home dates for 21743 total attendance - average of 1207.94.
Maybe we need some elaboration from front office as to what "highest series attendance in the ABL" actually constitutes.

Not totally Aces related (but ABL related), two Canberra Cavalry players, Kody Hightower (.361-6-25-4) and Kyle Putnam (1-2 1sv 3.31era 1.38whip) have just been announced as club imports for a team in the Dutch Hoofdklasse this season.

Taken straight from the ABL's own website. Simple matter of going through each individual game and marking down the crowd figures.

Just that they used to have attendance figures on their stats page, but mid season they took them down. Wonder why?

Congratulations to Melbourne Aces and Malvern Braves pitcher Kevin Reese, who has reportedly resigned with the Somerset Patriots for the coming season.
Former Adelaide pitcher Mark Brackman has been traded from the Frontier League to the Atlantic League, where he will play with the Lancaster Barnstormers, while two names who will be familiar to some in Victorian baseball, Johnny Bravo and David Whigham (another former Aces player) have both officially been 'released' by the Chico Outlaws in the North American League.

Congratulations to Melbourne Aces and Malvern Braves pitcher Kevin Reese, who has reportedly resigned with the Somerset Patriots for the coming season. Has he "Resigned - Quit" or "Re-signed - signed a new contract." What a difference an hyphen makes. Huh. And yet some might have thought the 'with' in the phrase "resigned with" makes it clear he hasn't "resigned from" the Somerset Patriots. Maybe that's too obvious.

Won't be calling you old fashioned. Tim will do! Further to the above signings and re-signings (that had better satisfy Tim!!) I am hearing Sandringham import Jason Ganek will be joining up with the Southern Illinois Miners in the Frontier League when he returns home.

With a name like "Harrasser", he'd want to be their pitching ace!
Bubbie might himself do a bit of harassing...... ;D

You'll have to explain that one to me KC... Another player has signed in Europe, with Adelaide and Hangar favourite Tom Brice signing in the Czech Republic with AVG Draci Brno. Also good to see in the box scores from Spring Training, former Adelaide outfielder Quincy Latimore (Aces fans will remember he was the left fielder who crashed into the wall after running voer the pitching mound, injuring his hamstring two seasons ago) has had some game time with the Pittsburgh Pirates, going 2-2 in a 10-3 Pirates win over Baltimore a day or two ago. Mark Thomas, who was with Canberra this season, has also seen some time with the Tampa Bay Rays this spring.

These probably belong in an 'ABL' thread and not in Vic, but you guys are the only ones talking about ABL guys in big league camp....so here's another: - Ty Morrisson (Cavalry this season) an AB in today's Tampa game.

Former Melbourne Aces RHP David Whigham, recently released by the Chico Outlaws in the North American Baseball League has been picked up by the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League.
Canberra import Travis Scott (.243-4-29-0 with the Cavalry) has hooked up with the York Revolution in the Atlantic League.
May have been mentioned elsewhere but Fitzroy's Matt Kemp appears to have moved clubs in Germany, and is reportedly the head coach of the Mannheim Tornadoes.
