With the Bandits and Aces both losing imports, it would seem the Bandits have come out the other side better than the Aces. Now with only 0.5 of a game separation, will the defending Claxton Shield champions make it to the safety of the playoffs runway or will they crash and burn on approach. Any thoughts Roly. If the Aces spilt the Heat series they might limp into the playoffs but its hard to be confident isnt it.
I see the Bandits have 6 games against the Bite now (then the Bandits delayed series) so if they only get 2 of the 6 (which is possible) then maybe we can stay in 'just'.
Get the feeling though that whoever limps into 4th spot will be easy pickings for the 3rd team in the playoffs though.
Would love to see playoff ball in Melb though !!!

The crash has already happened. Without the imports of Ono (starter) Kaneto (Starter and reliever ) and Kashino(?) the Aces bull pen has been found wanting. The Bandits have 6 games to play with another 4 in the last series at the Bite this weekend. Four of those 6 games are against the Cavalry at home. Bandits have 10 games and the Aces 4 games and leading by half a game. Do the Math Further Aces have a 5-10 history on the road and won't improve it this trip. I saw the series against the Bandits at Melbourne and the Bandits imports did absolutely nothing for the entire series, so when they went home the Bandits lost absolutely nothing IMHO. Anyway its a crap system that allows for imported players to be able to leave half way through the season. Neil W

Bandits have 10 games and the Aces 4 games and leading by half a game. Do the Math I think the math is that if we go 2-2 and they go 5-5 (which they might struggle to do) we stay in dont we ? PS: By my calcs we (Aces) are missing a game to get to the 40 game season (is there one more make up game still pending ?) PSS: I reckon the free passes/walks are killing us...no surprise that the bottom 3 teams have given up the most walks this season. At the Showgrounds in particular Walks kill you when the next bloke pops one out I reckon. Maybe in such a small park the pitchers are trying to keep away from the middle and thus giving up walks that then hurt you when they have to come back down the guts with runners on ?

Being an expert on concrete and all, are your boys gonna reach the hard stuff or clip the trees and end up in the dirt 17.......that's quite a logical thought you put forward.....for a Queenslander Not only are my concrete family well versed in all things concrete, we also know a thing or two about dealing with adversity........Think about it, if you were made of concrete and living in a world of real dogs, how would you like it roly will be down with the lads at practice this week and I saw a few things with the Perth team last series that I'll pass on. Firstly they fell right into old roly's "rope-a-dope" plan by swinging the bats so hard.......they will be that tired they won't be able to lift a bat, let alone swing one and all of that base running, haven't they ever heard of dead legs Mark ol' roly's words......Aces will dominate, but don't tell anyone, it's a secret On a more serious note let's all spend a special moment in thought for all of the recent flood victims through out the country. Life is so precious, baseball is just a game. WOOF

You may be correct about the math.... I was never much good at it The only slight problem is that we have to win 2 games and that's the part I'm not sure we can do. One interesting thing is that the whisper is that only two games of the deferred series between Cavalry and Bandits will be played and the other two deferred? Personally I think that we (Aces) will end the season's last series just like we did the seasons first series! The missing game is the "Infamous Tie" between the Blue Sox and the Aces. Which has been labeled as a "No Result" apparently. Neil W
