Hi all I see Ausport now has Aces keychains does anyone know if the other ABL teams have keychains too? I see Adelaide now has Hoodie's stubby holders and mugs
Think the Aces need to get these items as well would love an Aces mug or a hoodie
Started a thread in the discussion area on Aces facebook page, stressing we need an Aces Baseball card set, I have had to revert to making my own set would perfer a ABL/MLB released one

A hoodie would be good but I wonder if they'd be wondering whether given they are a summer team whether hoodie's are the thing, but given the weather we've had at The Show this year...
Hopefully the Majestic long sleeve tops are back in stock this time around.

Claxton Shield 09/10 and Aces are desparate for ticket sales and promise "Inaugrual Member" benefits. Not too many but as was advertised and promised there was a free Aces cap (once the new logo's were decided) and a certificate of recognition as an early supporter of the proposed new Australian Baseball League. After many phone calls (several of which went to the answering machine and un-returned) and several face to face requests with Aces staff, they have still not honoured their part of the contract. When I then take up an 10/11 season membership, it is a real kick in the balls to front up at the showgrounds to see plenty of sold merchandise being worn and caps and T-shirts for "flight crew". I just can't believe the contempt that the Melbourne Aces have for their "Inaugural Members" and earliest support base and all for the sake of a relatively small amount of caps. I did buy my own cap so I could fly the Aces cap and show my support at Aces home games......THIS season.

Perfeckt, i too gave away $50 of my hard earned down at Geelong last year to become an 'Inaugural Member'. I too was under the impression, after reading the piece of paper i signed, that i would receive a hat and some other kind of correspondence from the new Melbourne team.
Figured since no one else ever said anything, i wouldn't bother mentioning. There were at least 4 of my teammates from Springy that also paid $50. Wonder where all that cash went???

Conspiracy theory 1. The previous GM disappeared very quickly and quietly. Bonus? :-) I'm personally not so interested in the playing top, a hoodie, or the cap. But if I could get me a pair of them pants...

And which particular players pants do you want to get into TJ? Not particularly fussy at the moment. Of course it goes without saying that it wouldn't be a player hitting under .250... not unless he had a lot of RBIs and was a great glove man up the middle.

Re the apparent 'false promise' of a cap......I'm a big supporter of the Aces and love the ABL being back but IF the front office have 'mislead' or 'misrepresented' in some way there are ways that consumers can have recourse - it always pays to try and sort it out with 'the provider' first but if still unresolved call Consumer Affairs (they also have sample/template letters on their website too that can helps sort this out with 'the provider' in the first place too).

Hi authentic. I too am a supporter of the ABL but this is no "apparent false promise". I have spoken to the "providor" and I won't be bothered with consumer affairs over a cap but I might just not be bothered with an Aces membership again. www.vicaces.baseball.com.au/ Foundation Members. "On behalf of the ABL Melbourne franchise I would like to sincerely thank the following people for becoming Foundation Members of the new Melbourne franchise. Once the new team is named and launched, each Foundation Member will receive a new Melbourne team cap and a certificate of recognition. Your support of the new Melbourne franchise is very much appreciated." Stephen Nash General Manager. There were 31 people who signed on as foundation members and were considered paid up and proud. I also joined up as a Home Plate member in further support of the fledgling league as did 10 other people and 2 company sponsors.

p.s. Home Plate club sign on benefits ($150) included a Home Plate Club ticket to the Melbourne Aces opening game for the 2010 season. Never heard a thing!

Hi PT, personally I'd take it up with them as a matter of principle, but each to their own I guess.
If not I gather you and you fellow aggrieved would be sitting near or together at games and perhaps you could have a chat about how collectively you could make them accountable for their promise perhaps ?
Keeping this unresolved with surely hurt them in the long run and they should see good reason to 'do the right thing' sooner rather than later (you'd hope) !

Tonight 14/01 there was a function for the Foundation members in the Admirals bar and those interested and in attendance were presented to the crowd on the ground prior to the match. All names of the foundation members were read out to the crowd and as I understand it being that I was in the bar getting a drink at the time the Caps are stranded up in Brisbane and will be presented to foundation member ASAP.

2 weeks later and still no cap and no Foundation Member certificate. I guess the caps are still on the truck that was held up in Qld. due to the floods. I know this is sounding like sour grapes but after numerous talks with the Aces staff and boss and postings on this forum they have failed miserably in their response to the very people who supported them financially and pumped their (and the ABL) tyres at every opportunity since the new league was touted. Promises of regular updates for members... FAIL, promises of seating for the Aces opening home game... FAIL, promises of Foundation recognition.... FAIL, promises of a free Aces cap.....FAIL. Retention of an enthusiastic and supportive foundation member.... FAIL. I will still go and watch Aces games in the future but not as a member. I will not pay for a full season membership and just buy my ticket when I go to the odd game here and there. If this is the disdain you have for your earliest support base then shame on you and as for your questionnaire..... you can shove it, if you want to know real baseball fans thoughts you can find out here on this forum. p.s. you can keep your #$@*!ing caps and the two that I've bought have been given away. So long Aces and good luck. p.p.s. Did I just get out of bed on the wrong side today ?
