Anyone here going to the Aces Seat Selection on Saturday?
I would have loved to go but unfortunately will be en route to Croweater land when my selection time is due.
Also, would someone who is going be able to stake a good/decent seat for me? That would be so appreciated. In much gratitude, a free beer and/or hotdog/chips for the opening home pitch would definitely be on the cards for the good Samaritan.

I have placed a phone call regarding my commitment and payment to the "Aces" as a season member. No supportive reply!.. No reply. I was a confirmed and payed up "Foundation" member of last years Claxton shield. I have payed and publicly supported the cause. I get to read on the forum a question whether anyone is going to a "Seat Selection" for a decent seat! I haven't been supported (as a supporter} in in any way by the new deal. I'm no-one special but I've paid my money and the first Aces game is over. Yeah....I'm major league pissed.

Looking forward to the seat selection, have spoken to the Aces staff numerous times on the phone, they have been helpful and always accomodating. I'll look for your cap when I am there, apparently there will be merchandise, am still waiting for my pre ordered cap though

Your "pre ordered" cap doesn't come from the Aces. It comes from ABL Head Office on the Gold Coast. You may be waiting a while becuase I doubt they've even recieved them from the Aces. Your best bet will be to go to The Show on Saturday or to Ausport.

The pre ordered merchendise is being shipped from Ausport. I was talking to them after I picked my seats. The orders should be filled as soon as possible.

Kudos to the Aces staff at 'The Show' yesterday who despite the rain were out and about making sure those of us out there still got our seats.
Welll done all.

Got there about 9.30 after the tide had turned to be greeted and well looked after by the water logged staff that were there. Met Windsor Know who has manning the umbrellas and selected our seats.
There has been no work done as yet but they went through where the dugouts will be placed. They are going to remove some railing and set them back in the first two rows along the first and third base lines.
I only hope they have better weather going forward as they is still everything to be put in place with less than two weeks to go.

None so far CarGo.
The 'home plate' yesterday was a bit of plastic that a cleaner thought was rubbish and moved as I was about to leave.
Dugouts and light towers have not yet been installed, and there's nothing been done in regards a fence at this stage. Certainly no cut outs have been done as yet either and there's no mound so will be interesting to see if they're going to use a portable one or they can move one in from somewhere.
Didn't think much of the surface either. Was plenty of surface water just about where first base would be, and grass looked like it needed a good mow.
I have heard from two sources from two clubs that there will be an equestrian event at the showgrounds in the days leading up to the first series against Adelaide (and confiemed by a look at the Showgrounds website) but not sure if they are using the Main Arena. Would be a concern for Aces staff if they are.
I have heard Altona is being readied as a contingency should the first series of games not be able to be held at The Show. (Hopefully members get the Corporate Boxes at ground level if they wish should this occur)
In reality, I think this season will be a massive learning experience for all players officials, employees members and supporters of the Aces. Things will go wrong this season no doubt, but we should all understand that this is the first year of a long-term (hopefully) product and a year of hardship may be required.
