Claxton Shield Grand Finals Fact Sheet - Victoria v South Australia
1) Where are the games being played?
At the La Trobe University baseball diamond off of Kingsbury Drive in Bundoora.
2) When are the games?
Friday February 5th - 7:35 PM
Saturday February 6th - 7:35 PM
Sunday February 7th - 1:35 PM - Only played if required
3) Other than the game itself, are there any fun activities for kids?
Yes, Major League Baseball is bringing out the MLB Road Show where the young baseballers can have a hit in the TBall cage, test their arm strength in the pitching cage, and play yardball on the mini field. Also, Redmond the Lion has asked his friends to join him for this special occasion! Redmond’s favorite movie characters from the classic movie Star Wars - Chewbacca and even an Imperial Stormtrooper will be on hand. Other guests Mambo the Gorilla and Peels his Banana Buddy will be around throughout the series as well. There will also be a special appearance from the Watsonia Pipe Band who will perform before each game.
4) Is there any parking?
Yes, there is plenty of parking in the car park next to the baseball diamond off of Kingsbury Drive. The cost of parking is $3/vehicle.
5) Are all the seats General Admission, first come, first served?
No, there will be a grandstand with limited seating for $15. Other than that, there will be standing room tickets where you are allowed to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Standing room tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids online before the game. They will be $12 and $7 on the day of the game. If you would like to guarantee a seat in the grandstand we encourage you to pre-order your tickets online at www.claxtonshield.baseball.com.au
6) Can I get to the games via public transportation?
Yes, the nearest tram stop is La Trobe University Medical Centre/Plenty Rd (Kingsbury) Then walk south on Kingsbury St. and turn right after walking past the oval into the baseball complex.
7) Can I purchase a series pass to cover all the games at a reduced rate?
Yes, for the cost of the first two games you can receive free entry to Game 3. Your series pass will entitle you to entry to Grand Final games 1 & 2 and Game 3 if it’s required. Please note that Game 3 will only be played if the series is tied. There will be no refunds to series pass holders if Game 3 is not required.
8) Can I go online and pre-purchase tickets for the game?
Yes! In fact, it’s less expensive to order your tickets before the day of the game and on the internet. Please visit www.claxtonshield.baseball.com.au and then click on the tickets tab and find the finals at the bottom of the page.
