Dear All, South Australia has qualified to play in the finals series this Friday, Saturday and Sunday with all games commencing at 7:00pm. As you will recall the Presidents of all clubs agreed that the Claxton Shield was our premier competition and committed to its success. Consequently the following will apply to all games scheduled to be played in the Baseball SA summer competition next weekend. 1. On Saturday 30 January 2010 all Division 1 and Division 2 games are postponed and will be rescheduled to be played at a later date. 2. On Saturday 30 January 2010 all games scheduled for Division 3 to Division 7 will be played at the allocated times. 3. On Sunday 31 January 2010 all Division 1 and Division 2 games will depend on the results of the first two Claxton Shield games. Namely if the Claxton Shield series is over after the first two games then Division 1 and Division 2 will play their games scheduled for 31 January. If the series is not completed then the Division 1 and Division 2 games will be rescheduled to be played at a later date. 4. On Sunday 31 January 2010 all youth matches U18 to Little League Minor will be played at their allocated times. We are hopeful of large crowds at the Claxton Shield and we wish the South Australian team every success.

Credit to Baseball SA for being pro active enough to make changes to the schedule to allow as many people as possible to attend the Claxton playoffs next weekend.
A positive move from an often criticized organisation!

A positive move from an often criticized organisation! Definately agree with you there journeyman......now maybe they can do something about the moronic group of spectators who go out of their way to be offensive towards the opposition. Notice that I called them spectators, not supporters roly has seen it all & generally the S.A. organisation has done a great job, but as was the case back in the ABL days......well, better left unsaid. Hope you have a great series against the Patriots this weekend....if you make it through roly will make sure you are properly welcomed to Victoria next week, unlike the "Kick a Vic" BS that goes on over there. WOOF

As a division 1 player, we might not have any games this weekend which on face value is bollocks.
however, sometimes in life you have to look outside the square and look at the bigger picture.
and the bigger picture is that claxton comes first and we need to get a big crowd at Norwood to:
A) support the team, ie home ground advantage B) show MLB that an Adelaide team means business.
therefore, i agree with journeyman too. this is a good call by the SABL and they said the games lost will be re-scheduled anyway so no dramas.
so it's off to norwood we go and give the body a rest and drink some tubes. excellent

I plan to be listening into the Finals via the BR show online next week but wish I could be there to watch live and meet some of the blokes from the forum in person.

So has the SABL mustered up anything with any of the Air lines for a deal that could be made for people wanting to travel to Melbourne on the weekend?

just saw a trophy cabinet for sale on E-bay, the ad says to contact Baseball SA, urgent sale, selling due to: having nothing to put in it, cause we haven't won anything for a while. Will consider all offers or trade for an import ;D
