I believe it's time the Conference system in Div 1 is scrapped. With the current system you could have the third best win % and miss the finals, and at the bottom of the stronger conference you play more games against stronger teams.
In a 12 team comp I think playing each team twice (home/away) 22 games is a fairer system, if a couple of midweek games are required make them local derbies if possible.
Happy to have as few midweek games as possible (mainly due to the travel times which are only going to get worse), but for clubs who want them have a separate midweek comp.
Interested in other Members thoughts.

It is a good thought Fuzz. I don't think that the conference system has really worked. I would be quite happy if they played a top 5 with the top side getting a weeks break. I also wouldn't worry about the best of three either for the finals except form the big final. Scrap the midweekers altogether.

I'm 100% with you Fuzzy. Never been a fan since day 1. Playing some teams 3 times and others twice can never be considered a fair competition.

How many of the players would want as many/more midweekers?
Is a scenario like they have in Adelaide with their Super League a potential venture in Victoria?
