My understanding of the rule is that players deadline is 1 December . no players can be transferred or registered after the 1st December..I heard that the player lobbed up at Newport in 2018. I thought that this was a no no..can anyone shed any light on this Rumour has it he first turned up at Williamstown and they were told that he couldn't be registered.

There is no restriction on registering a new or existing player after the 1st of Dec. The restriction is just on transfers & registering of a non-national. But even with that in mind I believe there has been several occasions that clubs had approached BV for special permission to register a non-national after the 1st of Dec and it had been granted. In those cases it was granted prior to them playing. It could not be done retrospectively.

Maybe he pitched in the 1sts??? That would be a problem wouldn't it??? If you go by the BV stats he hasn't played yet in any 1sts game which includes the updated stats from the Blackburn mid week game.

Dear Club Presidents and Secretaries,
It is that time of year that we are preparing for finals and every point matters. Almost every club has sent some sort of email complaining about other clubs in violations of rules (i.e. non-national). I understand that this rule is not written the best, which is something we will clean up going into next season. But I will admit that it is beyond disappointing that clubs who have claimed knowing these clubs have been in violation all year, have decided to just now raise the concern 1 week before finals. If you have known, you should have spoken up sooner. I also know some of these allegations are also revenge allegations and clubs trying to get points and not all of these allegations are correct. Therefore, for this week and heading into finals, I ask two things from you:
<!--[if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->Please tell all your club members that if they have allegations or complaints that they go through the club president and secretary. (I do not need 10 emails from players, coaches and parents from one club, that does not help the situation. And yes, this has happened more than once now).
<!--[if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->If you would like to send in an allegation, please do so with evidence and facts, not just complaining. This includes stating the club and player in which you have allegations about and why you have these allegations with any evidence you have. Emails stating that “Club X is in violation of the non-national player rule” does not help or give me anywhere to investigate.
With all of that said, if you were one of the clubs that just complained and did not provide any evidence or reason as to why you think there is a violation, please re-write your email as per above so I can document it properly. This is also a heads up to clubs that may be in violation, please be ready to provide any documentation necessary as per my or any other BV staff member’s request. Lack of ability to provide what we are looking for, can and will lead to penalties and possible removal of that player.
Things will be different going into next season in regards to this rule as we can discuss in our meetings and how it will be handled. But for now, let’s get through this season as fair and competitive as possible.
Regards,
Kelsey Quinn Competitions Coordinator Melbourne Aces | Baseball Victoria

Good to see that the rules regarding Non-nationals are to be reviewed for next season, personally I would delete the 6 months instant aussie qualification and if the import gets injured, bad luck no replacement.
Clause (d) of Part 6 – Administrative Rules in part states " No new Non-National player registrations will be accepted after the 1st of December of each year." This rule is actually highlighted so I must have missed the footnote that says "IGNORE HIGHLIGHTED RULES".The non national rules are poorly worded but this highlighted part of Clause (d) is unambiguous.

not sure if anyone can help with any results of last nights round.
with everything going on seems this part of the competition has been overlooked. its an important part of the season I would have thought, for clubs, players and supporters who would like to see these results and what the standings are.
people are now saying no umpires for this weekends games in div one and maybe other divs. what is going on.

I find it it interesting that the umps wouldn't do first div 1's and 2's on the weekend as a 'strike' yet put their hands out to umpire the lower grades...your either pregnant or you aren't! If your striking then strike! Too be honest div 2 fourths don't need them...they just ruin the fun!

No complaints from us with the way the younger Cooke handled himself on the weekend. Back-to-back plates and was consistent all day long.

now now now, there is no need for that sort of banter on here enricopallazo.. he is allowed an opinion as are you. obviously he thinks that that is the way they ( umpires ) portray themselves whennthe get down to div 3. I like Wyatt. he has a good concept of the game and sometimes says things that may be a little off colour and is only his opinion, but he always has his clubs back and everything he says is always about his club.. he is allowed to do that.. all you do is xxxt on everyone and everything baseball...

Our intention was always for this Forum to be self-regulating.
It is great to see that we have come to that point without losing our independence and our capacity for free speech.
Full marks to you, philniekro and wyatt33!

I dont pot the umpires, im a huge fan of umpires. Except for one d**khead, all umpires have my full support. You knob heads that sit back and think you can do a better job give me no endless amounts of comedic relief. Time to go sing the anthem. Come and watch Wyatt. Strike?
