Wako is correct, I was referring to the St. Kilda ones - I thought it was obvious. Titans look OK, but as Lando does point out I played for Bendigo East for many years with sky blue pants and top so my judgement is clouded.

The Bendigo league uniforms were pretty ordinary too, gj, with some mixture of red and green and white as I recall.
Must say that I quite like the Titans top. It would look even more striking with white pants.

Showing your age now KC. Bendigo changed some years ago to grey pants and a blue top with gold undershirt (blue and gold being city colors) Those old ones were fairly hideous though.

Yep, that was in another baseball lifetime.
It's funny how some things stay with us though. Those old uniforms reminded me of apples.

Old Bendigo East uniforms were identical to Melbournes - all powder blue.

And here's some interesting garb from down GBA way in the eighties. Name the teams, name the players and you may qualify to win the grand prize...... A Bees Masters uniform, compliments of hammo and the boys. Now there's one that you'd like to wake up to after a night on the ink.

I could give it a pretty good go but KC would give me a clip over the ears for insider trading.

Dean's Marsh and Saints, and I believe the venue is the Artie Murrells Diamond at Belmont Common.

I do remember the Violet Crumble, I still have one at home, but then again I also have my last South Melbourne Uniform as well before they folded. The VC uniform was definately not for the faint hearted.

Our/the Reservoir Rebels (now Nth Coburg Rebels) first uni back in the 80's was pretty frightening with Gold Pants and a Maroon waistband. Ill try and get an image and post it later.

Larry, I will do my utmost best to delicately extract from the mothballs. I just hope the GLW hasn't started her late spring clean. It should be with the old Moorabbin Uniform and the old Powder blue Bonbeach uniform I think the last time I saw the South uniform was about 1973.

Wako, Can you put names to that photo? I'm guessing Glenn Ward in the middle, few others look familiar but not sure. Also, some good movember action and look at the size of the gloves.

No familiar faces, gj, that's before my time, but there could be a Southall or two...

gj, I was playing in another league (one of them), though that is certainly Glenn Ward in the middle. I reckon Terry Southall to his right (fourth from our left).
Maybe Bruce Wood second from our right?
I don't think Mick Harper or Brett Ward are in the snap. They were probably with some of us at Coburg in those days (which I am guessing would be early to mid-eighties). Though this picture would be winter baseball.....
C'mon. Someone can identify these blokes.

Eck, Oakleigh did have the name of the Violet Crumble for a while. It was a tough gig putting the uniform on after a big Saturday night on the turps after cricket.

mg I would love to recall the halcyon days of Oakleigh, when we were playing in D2. Meet many friends that I occaisionally run into. I must admit I was terribly horrified to see the VC uniform when it was presented to us. But it sort of grew on you. The many late night Sunday night card games that lead into mad dashes to work on Mondays was one of the main memories that I have. If I recall we didn't win a lot of games in the summer, but the winter in the DBA wasn't all that bad. I must admit it was a pretty enjoyable 3 or 4 years that I had there. It sort of helped having Bill Blanden there as it made going to Oakleigh a lot easier because of the South Melbourne connection.

OMR..We have a common past club in Oakleigh. I was probably there before you..in the big pants era. The not winning many games rings a bell.

Eck, my first recollection of going to Oakleigh was playing with Bill Hall, Ron Hunter and later his son Ian, Ron McIvor was the Club coach, Wayne Arnott was choofing away at the back of the pack, funny thing was that when the VC uniform appeared so did the older players, strange about that. It certainly didn't improve our win ratio.
