Thanks MWBL PRES and putting this issue back on the players and clubs is most appropriate in these circs I agree. Maybe a few more blokes need to voice their opinions through the proper club channels so it filters through next year.

I agree with Mark and te league. It's not just the couple of U18 players that may be missing, it's the parents of under 12's too. My regular team for instance had five players away with the combination of the above so I took the opportunity to watch the one and only A Grade game I could for the year and enjoyed the sunshine, quiet bevy and a win. Our club would have had to forfeit at least one team if a full round went ahead.

No good for Cam Stuart, great player and hope he is able to come back from this, but I know how bad ankle injuries can be.....
As for the action in the Bendigo Baseball Association, yes Falcons did get rolled for the 2nd week in a row, this time against East. East was able to put across a run in the first on a fantastic slide into home from Ryan Evans, before tacking on 6 more in the 2nd. East managed to hit gap after gap on both flys and grounders and took full advantage. East's pitcher, Aaron Sherriff, had both his fastball and excellent curveball working well, making quite a few of the Falcons batters look quite foolish. It wasnt until the 5th or so when the Falcons were able to come back somewhat, rallying for 5 runs, but East replied with 1 in the bottom of the dig. Light stopped the game only 10 mins or so short, but East were deserved winners on the day in what was probably their best played game for the season. Falcons simply have to improve if they want to win it all again, simple as that.
Another upset happened in the other clash between Scots and Dodgers, with Scots getting up 6-5. Winning just their 2nd game of the year, but 2nd in a row!! Scots were led again by the pitching of John Taylor, however they did go into the bottom of the last 1 run down, with a bases loaded 2 bagger winning it in a walk off (sorry I don't know who the hitter was).
AS the season has gone on the competition has become more and more even, its great to see as now no team has any easy games. Whoever is the best on the will win. Should be an interesting 4 weeks left as we run up to the finals!!!!

Keep the reports coming Bushman - great to read. Most even season in Bendigo for a long, long time. No easy beats and anyone appears to be able to beat anyone on a given day. Should make for a great finals campaign. Has Sean Meldrum been suiting up for Scots?

It is a great even competition, right across the 3 grades. Even Scots who were really struggling in B and C early in the year are improving each week which is great to see!
