Nothing like a quick rain burst to freshen up the place. Atleast the grounds are dry. Happy week ten.

Saints posted a 6-5 over Deakin in the GBA - after a last-innings scare. League-leading Lara continues to dominate, this time by smacking Bellarine 18-1, while Guild went to second after blanking Bacchus Marsh 16-0. Ballarat Brewers had the A Grade bye. www.geelongassociation.baseball.com.au

Research 3 Def. North Balwyn 1
The Beeps just doing enough to get back on the winners list on a fairly average day for Baseball.

Agreed, THC, not the best conditions for baseball, and at Sweeney Reserve, it was the heaviest track I have ever played on.
The Dodgers did defeat Pakenham 6-4 to take home the first Clutterbuck Cup, though the Pumas did hit the two home runs on the day. Watch them win a few over the next few weeks.

We must be getting the best of the Winter conditions out North as our game Vs Bundoora in B Grade was played in good conditions with our NC Rebels too good winning 11-1 I think behind NickyD after our boys scored 5 early as a result of a bit of luck and indifferent defence by the Bundy boys. With the game well in hand there was a curious decision by the Bundoora pitcher to throw at one of our hitters but I reckon the rest of HIS team saw it the same way Game played in good spirit and plenty of the Bundy boys and family (and Baz Blue) hung around for a feed and bevo so it was a nice day at the ballpark. Bundoora BRes beat us 7-5.

Congratulations to Paul for earning family bragging rights for at least the next few weeks. However despite the pre-game banter from the Berwick boys Gregg did manage an RBI single against Mick Wearne with his new bat. Our young shortstop, who was forced out of the last Berwick game after copping a ball to the face, played his second game back from injury and was solid in the field before coming on as a reliever to pitch a scoreless innings.

Good to hear Frankston 3's player Matt Schneider is home after a stray fastball broke his nose and fractured his cheekbone at Cheltenham on Saturday. An unfortunate baseball incident in cold and wintery conditions, not pleasant for Matt and his family. Wishing him all the best for a quick recovery with some follow up surgery to come on Wednesday.

Must have a straight forward roundof baseball. Very quiet on the DBA front except for the upcoming U/18 carnival in Mildura. Surely the weather has got to be warmer.

Kudos to the LVBA and Sale Sale Baseball Club in particular for an awesome weekend of baseball at the U14 carnival! Congrats to the 2 Ringwood teams for taking out both Div 1 and 2 titles. Well done to my DV boys coming in 3rd after a shaky start.

Well done to my DV boys coming in 3rd after a shaky start. Hear Hear! The Bendigo team would like to thank the LVBA and Sale Baseball Club for putting together a great weekend. After what I'm told was a week of rain before the carnival the grounds held up very well! Congrats to the winners and the Bendigo team completed very strongly, only losing comfortably to 1 team (eventual Div 1 winners Ringwood Green) and coming desperatly close to snatching the Div 2 title. 1 call goes our way and its a different result, but thats baseball. Congrats to all the players for the spirit in which they played, a credit to your clubs and coaches, and also to the MVP's of each team. One final mention to the catering, no compaints here and the roast lamb rolls www.essendonbaseball.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/like.gif{/img] Looking forward to a great under 12 carnival in Bendigo this week, hope we can turn on the sunshine!

Seems as if Baseball in general and Victoria in particular is going to lose one of our top umpires due to the short sightedness of those in power at the ABF. Mark Gooding has announced he will retire at the end of the winter season. All the best in your retirement, no more politics to worry about. No more grey hairs.

I think you'll find that "Goodo" will be anything but lost to Vic' baseball. No more grey hairs may be because he'll lose them before they can go grey! Good onya Goodo, do us proud.
