I see that Dominic Ruggiero has been appointed as the Head Coach for the 2013 Women's State Team (Blue) replacing Dean Anglin who lead the team for the previous two years. A 3rd place finish earlier this year not the result that everyone was looking for, but beaten in the semi by a red hot Perth team.
Dom returning to a role that he had a few years back although he's been the assistant coach of the women's national team for the last 3 years and will be part of the staff that leads the team to the Women's World Cup in Canada in August.
Hopefully everyone in the program gets behind women's baseball both at the domestic level and state level as it really is an important year or two for both levels. Domestic level really hasn't seen much of an influx of new talent in the last couple of years. There has been some but certainly not to the level that NSW has. Hopefully the new U15 Program can start seeing the new breed of players coming through.
At state level, will be interesting to see if numbers pick up again for a White team to be included. Will need the right approach and player development for that team to be viable.
