The Senior Championship will played in Geelong over the long weekend, with twelve sides initially expressing interest before ten finally committed.
It seems that Diamond Valley might be a late withdrawal. Any further news on that?
How are squads looking at this stage?

The LV squad has been set and everyone is extremly excited for a great weekend, We have had tremendous intrest with 20 players putting there hand up and in the end we settled on a 17 man squad which mixes in some players with 15 years of championship experience to go along with the youthful exuberence of 3 18 year old first timers.
Its a bit dissapointing to see DV pull out as they have been a huge supporter of the champs over the last few years when the champs have been struggling, hopefully we see them back next year.
Lets cross our fingers for a mild and sunny weekend so that we see some great baseball and lets make sure we welcome Mt Gambier back and most of all lets all enjoy the weekend.

Would be a massive dissapointment if DV were to pull out. Would see all the hard work of Stu Medland & co got to waste. Hopefully some guys come to the fore and DV are represented again!
The Bendigo squad is looking ready to go. A large number of players put their hands up which was fantastic, before an 18 man squad was chosen. After the disapointment of last year, combined with some new and returning players in the squad they are very keen to give this year a real shake. Certainly looking forward to it and hoping the weather is good!

City squad is picked and raring to go!
we've also seen an increase in the number of people wanting to come away. Its been a fantastic effort from the organizers to continue to build and promote the event.
See you Saturday morning bushman ;-)

See you Saturday morning bushman ;-) Will do!!! Sorry to see DV pull out...hopefully they can come back next year bigger and better! Interesting the way the draw works out this year, with only 3 teams to go into Div 2. Effectively you can get flogged all weekend, and only have to win both your monday games and you have a Div 2 title! I understand it has to work like that with 9 teams now, but it was the same with the 10 teams in the previous draw. I would hope you have to earn a chance to play in a final, not just cruise into it....

Best of luck to all the guys in the winter carnival, it's great to see Mount Gambier & Ringwood involved this year.
Disappointing that the Diamond Valley clubs couldn't find 12-15 players available for the weekend.

They were an impressive outfit, TJ, in pitching depth and with the bat. Dandenong pushed them hard in the early innings of the final, while Geelong did great (the only side to beat Ringwood) and Latrobe was in contention until Monday morning. Sunraysia won Division Two over Mount Gambier. www.geelongassociation.baseball.com.au
