After a successful 2011-2012 season, the Blackburn Orioles Baseball Club is welcoming expressions of interest in our Club Coaching position for the upcoming 2012-2013 season and beyond. The Club thanks our outgoing Club Coach, Dom Ruggiero, for the tireless work and tremendous enthusiasm he bought to our Club. Regrettably due to work commitments, Dom has had to withdraw from the position, creating an exciting opportunity to join the Burners. Blackburn will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year, and will be walking into newly redeveloped clubrooms at the beginning of the summer season. Our firsts have been minor premiers in two of the last three years and took the Grand Final to the wire against Essendon this year. Our seconds, fourths and masters also made Grand Finals, and most of our junior sides played in the Finals Series. The Club Coach is responsible for the selection of the assistant coaching staff, the structure and delivery of squad and full-senior training, oversees the selection of the senior sides in conjunction with the Chairman of Selectors, and reports to the Committee. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities and strict training regimes that will assist us in delivering quality support to our players as a cohesive unit. Please send through the expressions of interest no later than the 10th May 2012 to President Bruce Dicker at bruce21@dodo.com.au or Treasurer David Gow at dmgow@hotmail.com www.blackburn.baseball.com.au

Blackburn is pleased to announce that Adam Bright will be the Club Coach this season. Adam has had professional baseball experience in the US, Japan and Europe as well as playing for Australia. He clearly brings a lot of knowledge to the job and as anyone who knows him will tell you, he is a ripper bloke.

Congratulations to the Blackburn Baseball Club on the appointment of a person with a wealth of baseball experience and knowledge.
Well done to Dom Ruggiero for guiding and developing the list during an era that saw the Orioles consistently about the money as one of the toughest clubs to beat in Division One.
