Let's face it. It's a rule without parameters that really count for nothing. But it seems to have made a conversation piece. Only a real moron will enforce it. Oh I wish for my old Norman O'Neill Louisville Slugger wooden bat.

It's a pity the first DBA Masters Tournament fell over, last month there was 6 or 7 sides then there was not enough. Better luck next year. Looks like a long weekend of gardening and living with the wife.

I agree with an earlier post. All senior men's comps, should swing wood. Originally everyone used tin because it was cheaper to buy, and there wasn't the chance of the bat breaking. But now with bamboo and comp bats, they last as long as tin, and are cheaper as well! As soon as woods compulsory in aus baseball, the better. I'll be teaching my young bloke to swing wood as soon as possible. He can already swing it(tin) well, but to really learn to hit it has to be wood. It's real baseball!

I with you wyatt33, wood all round. Especially in Masters where some can still hit just as hard, but the fielding reflexes are a bit slower. Juniors should be wood from U/14 upwards.
