Can anyone update Brad Harman's playing status this year?
Has he signed in the US?
If not how can a guy play in the majors and AAA one year and not get signed a few months later ...
Thanks

I heard a little while ago that he had signed to play Indy Ball somewhere, but not 100% sure where...

signing is a typically detailed game you need to satisfy and tick so many boxes say you have expectations that dont match the team or you have tax or status issues, so many things come into whether a team has the resources or the interest in one guy over another , you may be performing great yet have some kink in technique that would indicate you could break down (not in any way indicated by me about Brad) Pro teams have such a large pool to choose from the drama and or practicalities way heavily on if you get signed or resigned. theres always so much more to it than just ability.

Whynot, I feel you may know more than your letting on here. Your response sounds like a political "spin doctor", are we to believe it is because Brad hasn't ticked the box's or he doesn't match the team or he has tax issues or he has status issues or a kink in his technique or something we don't know about. To be in the majors 2 season's ago and now no job seems strange.

not in a million years Mate I have no first or second or any level of knowledge re Brad
Ive been their, been through the whole shebang and shared a little personal experience with you , cheers
Best of luck to Brad but to others dont judge where he might be at right now , it might not be where he wants to be and issues beyond his control might be making it so .

Isn't this thread about Brad Harmen, not "Whynot's ability to rightfully or wrongly give his own assessment on why players are released"?
What whynot is saying has some legs, I don't think he is trying to be the Devils Advocate.
And playing in the Majors one year and not the next is not suprising at all. There have been plenty of Aussies to get their shot and then be released shortly after, recently you have Glenn Williams and Damian Moss.
Whatever the reason for Brad's release, i'm sure that if one of the 30 Big League clubs thinks he has the talent then he will be re-signed.
Hopefully he has somewhere to play this season even if it is Indy Ball - there is no reason why he couldn't make a Big League team again even if he spent a season playing Indy Ball.

Chardy, Williams walked away from playing at 30 in the majors and Moss's last team lost their "dunkin dougnuts" sponsorship, but still chases the dream and has had a great Pro career. The game passes by to quick to take time off a get back into it later, Harman in the Majors 2 seasons ago and now no job at 24 or 25 years of age?

Could be any number of reasons, players get released all the time, regardless of where they played the previous season.
As far as "dag" "the game passes by to (sic) quick to take time off a (sic) get back into it later" - I don't believe Brad is taking time off if he is going to play Indy Ball?

Damian Moss has been with the Rockies organisation for the last 2 seasons and continues to pitch in AAA with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

Exactly.
Another who comes to mind is Brad Thomas who played a few season in Japan recently only to be included in the current 25 man roster for the Detroit Tigers.
If Brad (Harman) sticks to it, im sure he will be back on a Big league roster in no time.
