La Trobe is good but the lights are nowhere near up to standard to play night baseball under.

"Pretty weak by BV, pushing this format but have not seen or heard anything regrading teams or results from last week. Maybe they are planning to keep results as quite as possable so people cant object to any selection decissions" (Reply 28)
Cheap shot, wolf...
The games are selection trials, with modified "rules" - E.G. pitchers only throwing one innings, re-entry of players, going more innings than seven if the coaches decide on the day. They are not competition games as such, and scores are basically meaningless. Guys are not there for the team, but to prove their own personal credentials against their peers.
As for commenting on the performance of individual players (which is what you are implying should happen), then that's surely not for BV or anyone else to do at this stage. The trials process - for a change - seems to be absolutely transparent, with Divvy Two and Three players getting the chance to try out against more "established" players (I.E. Division One). If the coaches/selectors are to make the best, impartial call on who gets selected, I don't think BV or any other governing group should be sticking their bib in - other than making more general comment and urging people to get down there for a look.
By all means baseball people want to know who is trying out, and who seems to be doing well, or otherwise. Best way to find that out - and to see Victoria's top players in action - is to rock on down to Altona or the club grounds when the trials head there.
