Congratulations and best wishes to all clubs fielding teams in finals!
Just to clarify the Division One Semi-Finals schedule....
Is it best of three Upwey vs Blackburn and Sunshine vs Geelong (both starting Tuesday), or something different as posted elsewhere?

So just to sum this up, we have Division One semi finals to be played TOMORROW night. At this stage we DO NOT know who is playing who AND we don't know WHERE!!! How many people are employed by BV again? It's a sad state of affairs!

Its hard not to be cynical about the way our game is Administered. For all the new people and new approaches and new outlooks on how best to grow the game and move it forward here in Oz, nothing much gets better. Low Grade ball is just a revenue raiser, umpires a rarity, and the the primary goal of pathways for the small percentage of talented kids is so overly obsessed about by many in the offices of Australian Baseball at the expense of who and what this game should for the most part be about (families/communities & recreational players). I mean they can't even get the day to day stuff right, and the fact that the best 2-3 months of the year weather wise is when most if not all of us don't play the game has always been a problem ad well.

I understand there were issues with the Sport TG overnight that caused a few issues online. Did this effect the results online also?
If not, and the results are correct, I suspect there may be quite a few sore ego's at Albert Park this morning.

The BV office can hardly be blamed for issues that are out of their control and I suspect any Sports TG related outages/updates would be out of their control. They also have not had their office at Albert Park for a few months now. Before you create an account to $h!tc@n BV maybe think about the things they can actually control first.

Agreed, any system issue would not be within BV’s control.
My comment about sore egos at Albert Park was not directed at the league…but the club that plays there…VAMONOS!

Would like a brief rundown of last nights games if possible, I know we are not going to get it from you know where.

Live coverage on Facebook and Game Changer suggests that both games were pitcher-dominated early days, Fuzzy, with Geelong getting away from Sunshine with three in the fifth en route to a 5-2 win, while Blackburn blanked Upwey 4-0 to take Semi-Final Game One of their conference.
Sam Gibbons was outstanding for the Baycats with a three-hit complete game, while Jeremy Young spun seven innings of work to keep the Eagles well in the contest.
Not having called upon their bullpen, the Baycats would appear beautifully-placed to win another title - even if the series goes into Sunday, when you imagine Gibbons would be expected to again take the ball.
Our Forum friends from Blackburn should be able to offer some detail on their game last night.

While many clubs have thankfully stepped up with their live coverage of Summer League games, this old baseball bloke found Facebook interaction on the Division Two Semi-Final between Newport and Werribee to be quite captivating.
While the game itself was an absolute gem - something like 19-18 in favour of the Rams after their early outburst - the online engagement of fans and club people was simply a delight to behold. It brought the whole contest to life.
In saying that, full marks also to Division One Semi-Final winners Geelong Baycats and Blackburn Orioles, who have consistently, too, shown the way in developing their online presence.
Regardless of final results of any Summer League game, men's, women's and juniors (I guess we will hear something about all at some time or other), that classic encounter at Werribee today served to emphatically underscore the worth of club competition to grassroots baseball - to passionate people, including volunteers, who are invariably dedicating time and expertise to help out.
I'm sure it would have been a thrill to be there.
How did your team go?

Congrats to Pakenham B C on winning the Div 3 Flag. Come from nowhere and finish up somewhere. Well done and well played. Absolutely the better team on the day.
