parkman. I don't know who you are and for that matter don't really care, but it appears that you are the only flog on this here forum. As me old pappy used to say, don't speak or type as it will only confirms what people really do think of you.
Couldn't care less what you or anyone else thinks. Floggo

Any truth to the report that a berwick "big league" coach was ejected from the game last night against the Panthers and then went on to say "this is why I hate club ball because of sp@@zes like you." And added more by saying "don't you know who I am?" Everyone knows who you are champ. A guy who played 2nds at Melbourne and carry' ball bags for the real coaches at the aces. once saw this guy try and tell a couple of ex minor league players how to hit it went down like a lead ballon Hard to believe he is coaching a club and was 2ic for our HPD yOU dont have to be a good player to be a good coach but you do have to have played this guy has read a few books and brown nosed even more

I must congratulate you parkman. You have managed to expand your vocabulary by one word. Next time you have a thought, just check to see if it is not somebody else's, you might need a dictionary and give yourself a headache.

Tried looking at the BVSL website to find out how many weeks Betreen got for his hysterical outburst, even the reporting umpire has no idea what has happened. Talk about a fall down in the system. Surely he couldn't have got off without at least a reprimand for attempted humour.

Obviously, someone at the tribunal knew him(HaHa). Verbal abuse, disputing an umpires decision, refusing to leave the field, AOL in the dugout. I suppose it is only worth one week. It was pretty funny.

1 week for those charges wow, knew he was well connected (that is code for head up certain peoples ar..s) but you have to question tribunals judgement here.
See what gets people's ire is inconsistency - .Newports import cops 2 years (which apparently BV wanted enforced world wide), Travis Bass cops 18 weeks and more recently Tristan McDonald cops 2 games for asking the visiting umpire from US something along the lines was he really sure that he got a call right.
As an aside, from what I am hearing this bloke needs to be told to pull his head in. Seems to be flipping blokes left, right and centre for effectively nothing. Head of umpiring might need to explain a few "facts of life" to this guy.

Head of umpiring in this state has a lot to answer for. ABL umpires doing low grades and couple of the worse umpires ive seen doing Div 1. Makes zero sense.

I was only commenting to someone over the weekend, that aside from the occasional gaff, which is expected, the umpiring this year hasn't been too bad

Umpires doing Div 1 and 2 games are not volunteers - they have chosen to take up umpiring and are paid to do it, unlike the players who pay to play. BTW I don't actually agree with Parkman necessarily about the overall quality of umpiring, I think many do a pretty decent job. What I do agree with though is appointing umpires to levels that correspond to current level of competency and experience

It is fairly obvious that parkbench doesn't get to many games with the comments he makes. Having watched a fair bit of baseball this year I haven't seen an ABL umpire in Div 2 yet and of the games I have seen so far, the umpiring hasn't had a derterming factor in any result of any game that I have seen so far. I have been critical of the umpires in the past, but the umpires over the last two years especially have generally improved. The standard is now at a very high acceptable level.

Parkbench, I don't have the time to troll the umpire appointments and don't really care who umpires who, as long the job is done effeciently. Hooray for Fitzroy and Malvern, I am sure they appreciated the honour of having an ABL umpire who wasn't required that day to officiate at Altona. Let's look on the bright side things, it wasn't you umpiring as you would probably think that a Div 2 game would be below your capabilities and hence would probably not turn up. Have a nice day parkbench. I will supply the flask and three newspapers so you can rest your weary head for the night.

Seems like our visiting US umpire has been flexing his muscles again. Tossed Waverley's Andy Hayes in the first inning at the weekend for having the audacity to suggest he might get some help on a checked swing call. No staring at him, no histrionics, no showing up, just a quiet piece of advice as he went back to the dugout.
But it gets better, our esteemed tribunal decided this " misdemeanour" warranted a 3,game suspension. Give me a spell.
I have no involvement with Waverley so no vested interest, I just don't like seeing blokes from any club get shafted.
Question is, given he is out here primarily to umpire ABL games what was he doing officiating in a club game when Aces were playing on same day? Answer, according to my mail, is he got a little "holiday" courtesy of his ejection of one of the Vavre brothers.
Pity our tribunal seems to want to support him and the obvious ego trip he is on, rather than toss out clearly frivolous cases and let him know he is wasting everyone's time

Phil, It could be a case of unskilled labour being supported by the centrelink for fear of an uproar from parkbench.. I hope there was an appeal. Now Phil, we must all understand that sometimes honesty is not always the best policy, especially when the truth is required.

We all know that skippy is the chairman of the bv tribunal, because the results that come out at times resemble some type of marsupial court!

I've seen a lot worse comments than this left up on the forum. Can anyone shed some light as to why it was taken down in the first place?
