There is the first question then. " where does the winter league registration money go" And one from me" what pathways are you going to put in place for junior and senior players from the country who don't or can't relocate to Melbourne - seeing as all the previous pathway programs no longer exist"

Spot on gj this started to break down when they scraped the Ballarat weekend as part of the selection process for the state sides. I've spoken about this before a number of times. It was the best baseball promostion, we took the baseball to the kids and parents. It allowed kids at many skill levels to participate over a weekend that ran like clockwork with the umpires holding thier training at the same time as providing umpiring of the 5 or 6 games in all age groups. At the time it was announced by the league that its not worth it and "we" the league, will go out and hold clinics in the regions to discover the talent. Well how's that gone. Any reports of the success of that policy? Love to know how many visits have been made since. How many clinics have been held outside of metro Melbourne, not that clinics come anywhere near the fun for kids than actual game time. Does anyone know and received feedback from the league. Maybe I've missed the publicity of these events.

It's tough, but it's gotta be done. I am taking note of all the questions and will endeavour to ask and hopefully get an answer.

Couple of items lads first 99% certain Deebs is not the Aces manager or any part of the organisation next the absolute tragedy of the disspanding of the VPBL by the so called current decision makers will eventionly be seen as the farce it is and hopefully challenged by concerned educated people with a love for the game and understanding we don't just exist for the purpose of getting young kids signed to a professional contract so as to receive a kickback from MLB. The regional championships has for many years provided an amazing environment for country folk of all ages to participate in the game we all love but there are so many other reasons to protect and enhance the rural clubs not the least of which being to offer the young and old an alternative to the internet, drugs, apathy etc. i could go on with a war and peace novel on all the inconsistencies currently taking place but most on this forum probably know already the question is will any of us do anything about it? For me a breakaway group offering all winter clubs an alternative competition would make for interesting discussion, I think it used to be called the Victorian Provincial Baseball Legue!

Good interview with Neale last Friday. Winter Baseball is safe with the possiblity of an over 45 competition being introduced along the lines of the QBW possibly being played on the QBW. Possiblity of a whole round of Div 1 going bush in January. As for the rego money, that was raised at Bendigo and no real answer came forth except that it pays for BV staff etc and the winter championships. The LL is a priority with the rest of the Junior Leagues to be up and running by 2017-18 as full charters. The impression I got was that Winter Baseball is very much an integral part of the baseball make up.

When checking the rpp radio webpage I have been unable to find any of the DBA podcasts to date this season.
Listened in for most of last weeks ep but I'm hoping going forward I hope it will be able to be podcasted as Friday night are a busy night with people being out and about.
It would be perfect if it could be listened to at a latter date.
Keep up the good work fella's

Listened to the podcast last night. Good stuff. Thanks for asking my question guys. A bit of hopefully constructive feedback: the conversation probably needed a little less ranting. It seemed like a lot of stuff was blasted at Ash with not enough structure to questions to allow him to address the concerns in a clear way.
