This goes out to the powers that be that suspended the Dandenong rep side for last years stuff up. I understand that you had to do something as some of the boys did go to far. But suspending everyone on the team is a joke. The first year players some of them kids are missing out just because a few blokes cant handle there drink. but i tell u this. if you Ban Dicker from coaching this year he will never do it again. That means good luck finding a coach with that experience and earns the respect from his players. Otherwise it will be a rabble team that go to drink first and represent dandenong second. So this is a free Darryl dicker blog. get on board to keep the dandenong baseball association strong and we can once again sing after all is said and done GIMMY A DANDY GIMMY A NONG A DANDY NONG, A DANDY NONG A RA RA RA DO DO DO DOOT DO DO

yeah, i agree my short-statured friend. what an absolute joke banning the whole team. cant help but feel some behind the scenes politics played some part in the decision. Dirty is one of the nicest and approachable people you'd ever hope to meet. I'd like to see who will go to carnival now that the 2008 team is banned? maybe the DBA will have to bite the bullet and not send a team at all...

this is a JOKE!!!!! us cheltenham boys tried to appeal it and the DBA would not even hear us out. all they said was if you appeal the penalty would be worse.
This is just a JOKE. DBA should be ashamed and they have just dug themself a hole.
Dirty is one of the best guys for this job as previous comments have said everyone respects him and he has a wide knowledge of baseball. and is very easy to talk to.
also i coached the under 18 DBA side and will be intersting to see if they ask me again seeing as i was susspended from DBA tourtments.
This is a joke!!
Let him coach again. good luck to the DBA with a team this year also

not real sure if this is actually a joke or not Nudrun, but you are right, Dirty is one of the nicest blokes in baseball but lets get real serious about the whole deal, Slyone, you say the DBA should be ashamed, little fella, the guys that should be ashamed are the players that disgraced themselves, the association, the tournament and the game by being absolute drunken morons and caused all the damage and hassles. Like I posted many months ago when this happened, you lot try and get any accommodation anywhere now after the antics of the DBA team has got around the motel industry, and you reckon they don't talk to one another. All I can say is well done to those involved, you probably didn't cop enough for the damage you caused.

theres an easy way to "free dirty". maybe the blokes who did the damage own up to what they did???!!! (then they can also pay for each portion of the damage bill that was metered out to innocent players)...

thats the thing rev 4...... the guys who did the damage DID own up for it. the DBA even admitted they knew who had caused the damage.
Yet they still said that we were all in the team so we are ALL at fault regaurdless.
thats the thing thats got me annoyed.

yer thats the thing rev. oh well all is done now but how can the DBA do this. its just not logical. CBC even have a letter stating this.

Post by thewholetruth on Mar 16, 2009 15:23:17 GMT 10
please post a copy of that letter slypig because the email i saw from the dba stated that because noone came forward each player would have to pay part cost and would be suspended. i will see if i still have it.

What a joke!!! I hope some senior guys hung these guys who caused the damage by their balls...

Every player had to go in front of the committee and state their case.
This is when the players in question stated they were involved - Every other player/coach/scorer was heard, even in cases like me and a few others that only played up there for one game, or wasn't in the room or whatever - still the DBA suspended us for this years carnival.
Maybe Oldracer this is why Sly suggested it is rediculous - not sure why ppl state things here without knowing the whole facts. Nudrun is right - without boggsie - baseball will come second and this is why the DBA in the past has been so successful over this weekend - how do I know? this year would've been my 13th trip.. Unlucky!!!

"Maybe Oldracer this is why Sly suggested it is rediculous - not sure why ppl state things here without knowing the whole facts." Richo, not so sure that many people at all know the real facts then, if all those that did the damage have fessed up and paid, not too many people know, obviously other DBA clubs/players are not aware.....

Your exactly right and doesn't this again reflect on the DBA's actions after the effent and poor management??
fessed up but paid?? this I am not sure -

what about the scorer Michelle got a ban i believe . yes this is correct. but i think they came to at least realize that she might have not been involved. so even if richo wasn't there he still got hit with the ban. time to STAND up and be men. we all no who did it, Ur grown men. take it like men and didnt spoil it for every one else. all i can say if dirty doesn't do it and some other bloke does. I'm tipping these blokes wont even get a sniff for selection. so do the coach and the young blokes a favor and go to the dba and SUCK IT UP. your gonna miss this year anyway so what does it matter

Wow... that info wasn't discussed at any of the P & S meetings I've attended. In fact, they stated they believed they knew who it was, but without an admission, or someone dobbing in the culprits they had no alternative but to ban all. Since that meeting, nothing has been advised to state differently (in P & S meetings), even when Cheltenham requested that their innocent player/s bans be reconsidered.

you guys actually select a team? i thought it was whoever wanted to go went... chuck my little buddy , in the dba we have 2 weeks of try outs, the best will go. we like to involve every club including the b or c grade teams like boneo, tyab etc. nothing better then going away with blokes you have never met. the more uniforms the better. otherwise u end up with a team like ringwood (no offence) that take a star studed team on paper but go away and get hammered and half the team dont show up for the first game. we play hard and party hard, but baseball is always first.
